RIS short film production on 'Mapping Urban Unrest in Beirut' is out
RIS team is delighted to share and publish our new short film production on 'Mapping Urban Unrest in Beirut Public Squares' which is now available to watch. I was delighted to meet with a brilliant group of youth enthusiastic people hoping for better change in#Lebanon.
We have conducted extensive empirical research including archival media records, firsthand interviews and focus groups with a wide range of Lebanese people who participated in the#YouStink2015revolts in Beirut#Martyrs' and#RiadAlSolhsquares during the#Hirak.
Filming took place during a workshop we organised in Beirut in collaboration with Public Works Studio to document and map spatial practices of protest that reflected different experiences and individual stories.
The Revolt in the 'Square': Spatial Modelling of Urban Stability project was funded by theArts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)andPaCCS - Partnership for Conflict, Crime & Security ResearchUniversity of LeedsGlobal Challenges Research Fund (GCRF)
